Cashew “Kreme” Made 3 Ways

Cashew “Kreme” can be used as a ricotta cheese, heavy cream or sour cream substitute. Makes a great base for many dressings. It is naturally dairy, gluten, and soy free and can be used in many recipes when you’re craving a creamy substitute for dairy.

 

Cashew “Kreme” Base

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw cashews soaked in filtered water for at least one hour
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • ¼ clove raw garlic
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

 

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients in a high speed blender until creamy and smooth. Adjust consistency by adding more water as needed and season with additional salt and pepper.

 

Alfredo Sauce

Start with the Cashew Kreme base but add the following.

Ingredients:

  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ tsp dried parsley
  • ¼ cup almond milk (unsweetened and plain)

 

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until it is a consistency of traditional alfredo sauce. Add more almond milk if needed.

 

Ranch Dressing

Ingredients:

  • Start with the Cashew Kreme base but add the following additional ingredients: J
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • ¼ cup almond milk (unsweetened and plain)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until it is a consistency of traditional ranch dressing. Add more almond milk if needed.

 

Vodka Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups prepared marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Cashew Kreme base

 

Directions:

  1. Stir both ingredients in sauce pan on medium heat until well blended and serve warm.
